IIT JEE 2010 – How to prepare in the last months…?
IIT JEE 2010 is coming closer and closer as the days are passing by. The one question in the minds of the students is how to prepare now in the closing moments. Lets see what you can do now in the closing moments.
First lets see how to close preparations of physics. As of now you would have understood that Physics is all about concepts rather than mugging up. If you have the right concepts physics is a piece of cake. In my terms a real rank decider. If you can apply the right concepts at the right time you are certainly a winner.
My teacher always said that no one can visualize physics. If you have to solve a mechanics problem don’t visualize it. Just look at the number of variables and the number of equations. That will give you a clear cut idea of how to proceed further. If the number of variables is equal to the number of equations you have hit the right spot.
This idea will not only work with mechanics but with any problem in physics. For example in electrostatics, gravitation, and nuclear physics everywhere this concept can be put to use with utmost ease. This is the best way to go as you can never visualize gravitation or atoms.
As for chemistry it is another rank deciding subject. Believe or not the chemistry paper will be such that you can score as much you can without compromising with time. So simple is the paper that it is difficult to judge which section to attempt first.
Now make this very clear that whenever you are attempting the chemistry paper never attempt the multiple choice questions first. Always start with simple one correct answer questions. Just make sure that you don’t waste time confusing in multiple choice questions. Doing this will only introduce panic into the equation.
So try to make sure you attempt the minimum cut off that you anticipate before jumping to the multiple choice. Subjective questions are easy most of the time. Have a quick look at them then proceed.
Practice all this with sample papers. Try to build confidence that you can solve any paper within the stipulated time. Dinesh objective chemistry will be a big help for practice.
And in the last few days try to revise organic and inorganic as well as possible. They will be the backbone of your marks in chemistry. Don’t ignore organic as it can give you a 100% strike rate.
As far as maths is concerned practice is everything. If you don’t practice you are as good as zero. So try to solve as many sample papers as possible. Try to involve a little bit of geometry. For example coordinate geometry questions may seem tough if you solve it with equations, but it is a piece of cake with geometry.
Try to look at the symmetry wherever you can. The beauty of mathematics lies in the symmetry. Try to solve the questions with special cases and eliminate the wrong answers. This way even if you are not able to solve the question you can make much accurate guess.
Calculus is the backbone of mathematics. Over and over the years calculus has been a major topics in JEE maths paper. Don’t panic if you are not able to solve a calculus question. Just visualize with tools such as wavey curve or other tools.
Solve as many problems as possible. Don’t go for new concepts at this time. Just work on previous concepts and try to make them as solid as possible. I hope this article will be helpful in your preparation.
