IIT JEE 2010 – NEW ADMISSION PROCEDURE
IIT JEE has started this new system from year 2011 regarding the admission procedure from next year. The eligibility criteria for students with 60 % marks in 12th will be raised to 80-85 %. How this new system will benefit the students is unknown to all. I guess only the people who have formed it will be responsible to the thousands of students in BIHAR or UP board who are capable of competing IIT but will not just because their boards do not award such high marks.
Also the new system includes a clause that students with 90% or above in 12th will be awarded 45 bonus marks. This again is a baseless clause as it will be a negative for students of other boards. These all new systems have been so baseless that one has to argue that is IIT still a top educational institution or a an agenda of political tug of war.
These clauses have came in place of the older clause that students with 60 % or above are only eligible for IITs. 60% in a way was OK as students of all boards saw their chances. But this new system will ruin the chances of many a students who miss 90% marks by a marks or two and will lose 45 marks in JEE.
Well, whatever the system may be it cannot hide the talent for too long. Talent is like water which percolates through the hardest of soils. So I think however wrong these systems may be real talent will still come out.
I hope this system taken back as this will do not no good to the thousands of students who are craving for a seat in the premier institute. All the best to all candidates.
